Sony has been a tier one and a huge smartphone brand in the market until dethroned by the latest buzz in the market, OnePlus. But, still, Sony is trying hard to get back into the market and produce some good quality smartphone with a price tag that will attract new customers towards them. The Xperia X10 back in its time was a big gun and was looked forward to many smartphone enthusiasts and was bought similarly. This smartphone was one of the first to have a great build and an impressive camera to it.
This smartphone sports a 4.0Inches 480P scratch-resistant display. The screen resolution of Xperia X10 is 854×480 pixels and also a pixel density of 245 pixels per inch. Comparatively, it is a fairly compact and good display with impressive viewing angles to it. The display is bright enough for outdoor usage and color reproduction is done really well. It runs on Android 1.6 Donut with the Timescape UI skin on top of it. Timescape UI is home-baked Android-based user-interface Sony designed for Xperia smartphones only.
As of this news, the Android version of this mobile can be upgraded to Android 2.3 which is the GingerBread operating system. The latest update also brings a brand new kernel, an unlocked bootloader and 16M colored display with it. This is pretty impressive for the brand and an excitement for the X10 users out there. The latest Android 2.3 GingerBread update will also run with the Timescape UI skin on top.
Hardware wise, the Sony Xperia runs the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon S1 processor under its hood. It is a single-core processor which runs at a clock speed of 1.0Ghz which is impressively fast at doing tasks and running apps seamlessly. This chipset is coupled with the Adreno 200 graphics processor which gives a really good gaming experience. The graphics are processed quite efficiently with this GPU and there seems to be no trouble with it whatsoever. Both the CPU and GPU perform really well and are worth the money.
For storage, there is a pretty spacious 384MB of RAM which is more than enough to multi-task seamlessly. It also carries an internal storage of 1GB which is luckily expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card via the dedicated slot. The cherry on top is that we get an 8GB of microSD card included with the smartphone. The storage space provided quite sufficient for your media files and app data along with the required app memory which is needed. The dedicated SD card slot provides room for storage up to a massive 32GB which is good.
Camera wise, we have got an 8-Megapixels primary camera with Autofocus and an LED flash at the back. This is one of the best smartphone cameras right now in the market. It also comes with features like fast touch to focus, image stabilization, geotagging, face detection, and smile detection to click pictures. This camera can record high-quality videos up to 480P at 30 frames per second. Lastly, the most important component which is the battery. It has a 1500mAh Lithium-Polymer battery which runs the device.
